COP

WHO: Citizens on Patrol or COP as it’s known, is a group of local residents and friends of the valley, that donate their time to patrol and watch out for the welfare of this beautiful Chilliwack River Valley and its residents (2 and 4 legged residents).

WHY: This valley is a sensitive watershed with over 1 million visitors per year (and growing).

During summer months, the forest can become tinder dry and there is no room for mistakes with campfires. The sheer number of visitors requires someone to watch out for the well being of the valley. Working in liason with the RCMP dispatch office in Chilliwack, volunteers act as valley guardians and are the front line eyes and ears on the ground.

NOW RECRUITING!: If you have a few hours per week and would like to become an active participant in this excellent service of devoted volunteers, please contact the COP coordinators (Joe and Thelma) at 604-745-7915 – No Experience Required.  Each successful volunteer receives training and support and always works under the buddy system, never alone.
